Grace's Success in 2024
Grace has made such great progress over the past year. When she first joined in the fall of 2023, she faced challenges transitioning between activities and participating in class. At that time, her verbal communication was also limited. She also needed significant prompting to write her name and other letters/words.
Now, Grace has mastered all of her first-grade spelling words, writes independently, and participates in all of the activities. She has grown into an incredible student, and her teacher is confident she will continue to thrive in the coming year!
Please consider giving to one of our initiatives to help students like Grace! Student's name has been changed for privacy purposes.
On-going Projects
- Autism Solutions Academy Scholarship Fund: Most students receive a state scholarship, and we supplement their tuition to cover additional costs. Thanks to donors like you, we have been able to cover these additional fees, so we continue to offer our families a free educational option for their autistic children who are not finding what they need in other educational settings.
- Technology Support Initiative: Donating here means your gift will support updating and obtaining the best technology and online resources that will help our teachers reach certain students that other tools and resources will not. We are currently working on putting a smart board (TV-size iPads) in each classroom.
-
Curriculum & Classroom Supplies: Purchasing new textbooks and workbooks each year can get expensive quickly. Updating our curriculum and classroom supplies is a key part of our goal to offer the best possible education to our students and families.
- Flexible Seating / Furniture: Because our students move a lot, it is important that we have classroom furniture that allows for greater movement. Things like rocking stools, beanbag chairs, and floor seating options can do wonders for certain students. We often need support in order to make a purchase to update our old or damaged furniture because we strive to obtain sturdy and adaptable furniture for our classrooms. It can be $50+ for one flexible seating option for one student.
- Community Engagement Program: Each month, community visitors visit our students at each of our locations to add to our curriculum and give students a chance to interact with others in their community. These visitors bring art classes, magic shows, petting zoos, science classes, yoga, etc. to our students. Some of our recent partners in this program have been Art Haven, Ogden Nature Center, and My Gym in Layton.
